Automotive Engine Remanufacturing - Materials Handler - Parts Room
Starting Pay: $18.50/hour and up to $20.00/hour potential (with earned MONTHLY bonuses)
Schedule: 1st SHIFT ONLY!
Monday - Thursday 6am - 4:30pm (10hours)
Some Friday work as needed
NO SATURDAYS! NO SUNDAYS!
Job Description:
This position performs all functions related to pulling and issuing of purchased parts consisting of tooling and supplies, but can be for any part used to support the production lines. Parts sizes can range from as small as nuts or bolts to as large as engine cylinder heads.
On a daily basis, tooling and supply parts list will be turned in or collected for parts to be pulled, moving the parts to the designated production area, performing all related system transactions consisting of miscellaneous issues, and job transactions.
Additionally, will cover the parts counter to support the production lines of parts required and physical inventory counts will be performed at various intervals requiring the use of weight scales or hand counts with a calculator.
This position may perform other duties as assigned or fill in for others in the department or other departments as needed or requested.

Experience/ Skills:
May be required to become qualified through LKQ's forklift testing program and/ or propane filling qualification. General math and computer skills needed.
Equipment Used:
Computer, calculator, pallet jack, and parts carts. Forklift and propane filling equipment if qualified.
Safety/ Safety of Others:
Must wear all company required personal protective equipment in required areas. Care necessary to avoid placing self and others in an unsafe environment.
Quality of Work:
Provide quality products and services to meet the needs of both internal and external customers. Quality of work impacts succeeding operations.
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Requires continuous physical effort; short work cycles; repetitive motion work. Standing 80%, walking 20%. Lifts, pushes, pulls an average of 80+ lb. occasionally, 40 lb. frequently, and 20 lb. constantly. Exposures to atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, varying temperature extremes. Exposure to noise, various chemicals, and waste products.
